this set was made for a wedding gift. I love to gift handmade items for weddings. A handmade gift, in my opinion, is really a gift from the heart. The hot pads have 2 layers of cotton batting and 1 layer of insulbrite. I cook with a lot of cast iron, so I like thick hotpads. The dish towel is backed with terry cloth. It makes for an absorbent, yet pretty dishtowel.
This set of hot pads was made for a lady I work with. They have the 2 layers of batting as well as insulbrite. She has told me several times how much she likes them.
